Büyük Sava? ba?lamadan önce Mardin, Nusaybin ve Cizre kentlerinin hem Mardin sanca??n?n de Kuzey Mezopotamya’n?n ticaretinde önemli yerleri vard?. Bu çal??mada Mütareke Dönemi’nde sancak merkezi Mardin’in yan? s?ra, sanca??n Cizre, Resulayn Derbesiye gibi di?er yerle?im yerlerinin ?tilaf Devletlerince i?gal te?ebbüsleri incelenmi?tir. ?ngiliz Hükümeti gizli ar?ivlerinden yararlan?larak, yap?lan ayr?nt?l? ara?t?rman?n sonunda sancaktaki ile Derbesiye’nin i?gale u?rad???, Cizre’nin tehdidi ya?ad???, (ve Amude)nin ise edilmedi?i görülmü?tür. 1921’deki Ankara Anla?mas?’yla Resulayn, Amude Derbesiye’den vazgeçilmesi kar??l???nda, ticari aç?dan üç köprüba?? ?ehir Türkiye s?n?rlar? dahilinde kalm??t?r.
